An Impressive Result for the Under 15s 1st team

Friday evening, 12th November, saw an impressive Mansfield Junior Badminton Club Under 15 1st team play host to Chilwell, from Nottingham, continuing their bid to win the Nottinghamshire Junior Badminton League.  Mansfield Juniors were very strong from the start and took a commanding lead.  Chilwell put up a good fight but never quite matched up to Mansfield’s skill and strength.  There were outstanding performances from all of the team players and they won their match, without any problems, 13 – 2 claiming the full 3 points.  With this win under their belt, Mansfield Under 15’s 1st team, goes to the top of the table.

Boys Singles: Mansfield 1 – Luke  won 22 – 13.  Adam  won 21 – 13. Ed  won 21 – 13 and Joe  won 21 – 9.

Girls Singles: Mansfield 1 – Hattie  won 21 – 15 and Elizabeth  won 21 – 13.

Boys Doubles: Luke & Adam won both their doubles games 21- 8 and 21 -9.  Ed & Joe won one game 21 – 11 and lost one game 17 – 21.

Girls Doubles: Hattie & Elizabeth won their game 21 – 17.

Mixed Doubles: Luke & Hattie won 21 – 16.  Ed & Hattie won 21 – 11.  Adam & Elizabeth lost 17 – 21 and Joe & Elizabeth won 21 – 18.

I have played badminton for 40 years and work in energy efficiency, mainly in schools. I am Chair of Governors at Flying High Academy Ladybrook, so have experience of Safeguarding to a high standard. I have a daughter, Emily, at the club and a 2-year-old son, Jason, who wants to join as soon as he can.
