Powerful Performance from the under 17s

The under 17’s from Mansfield Junior Badminton Club continued their hunt for the Nottinghamshire Junior Badminton League title by playing host to the Sunrise Club, on Friday 19th November.  From the start, Mansfield dominated the match and stormed into the lead.  With some very strong performances Sunrise were only able to take one game off the home side.  Mansfield claimed the full three points from the match winning convincingly by 14 games to 1.

Boys Singles: Ryan  won 23 – 21.  Michael  won 21 – 10.  John  won 21 – 19.  Joe  won 21 – 11.   

Boys Doubles: Ryan & Michael won both their games 21 – 17 &  21 – 7.

Girls Singles: Ruth  won 21 – 5.  Jenny  won 21 – 9. 21.

Girls Doubles: Ruth and Jenny won 21 – 12.

Mixed Doubles: Ryan & Ruth won 21 – 16.  Michael & Jenny won 21- 2.  John & Ruth won 21 – 16 and Joe & Jenny won 21 – 8.

I have played badminton for 40 years and work in energy efficiency, mainly in schools. I am Chair of Governors at Flying High Academy Ladybrook, so have experience of Safeguarding to a high standard. I have a daughter, Emily, at the club and a 2-year-old son, Jason, who wants to join as soon as he can.
